(50%) Provides assistance with routine and discrete data collection efforts and sample processing and data entry related to research projects. (50%) Rare opportunity to assist with USDA Forest Service-UGA collaborative research on prescribed fire science. Selected applicants will participate in wildland fire science in the combustion laboratory, fuels laboratory, and field experiments related to fire behavior and fuels. Applicants will be trained in the use of state-of-the-art technology such as laser scanning, thermal imagery, and 3D modeling. Successful applicants will leave the assignment with a deep knowledge of wildland fire management and the experience of rewarding work on a fascinating and relevant topic.
