Deadline: Fri, 12/15/2023 - 12:00pm Employer: Beasley Forest Products Job Field: Forestry Job Type: Full Time Location: South Carolina Location Detail: Walterboro, South Carolina Seneca, South Carolina Job Description: Beasley Forest Products is seeking a procurement forester that will be responsible for log/timber procurement for multiple sawmills and satellite log yards. Beasley Forest Products is looking for a candidate that is willing to build relationships with landowners, loggers, and timber suppliers to provide a consistent flow of logs to multiple facilities. The position will be based out of the Walterboro, SC area. Qualifications: • Associate or bachelor's degree in forestry or related field • Minimum 1-2 years of timber procurement or related experience Miscellaneous: Key Responsibilities • Purchase stumpage from private landowners and consultants • Cruise and market timber to be harvested • Oversee timber harvesting operations • Prepare timber sale areas, flag sale area lines, coordinate road work, manage BMPs, and supervise logging crews • Ensure appropriate follow up to timber sales after harvesting is completed • Participate in weekly Team’s meetings with Procurement team • Purchase delivered wood to log yards from outside suppliers • Perform field visits to suppliers when needed to educate loggers on mill needs and log specifications • Coordinate with Area Manager to ensure wood flow and log quality is being met and maintained Preferred Skills • Safety focused – follow company safety guidelines and requirements • Self-motivated and self-starter – planning and execution of responsibilities • General knowledge of Microsoft office and basic computing skills • Understanding of Best Management Practices (BMP’s) • Ability to develop strong relationships with suppliers and expand growth of area • Strong work ethic Benefits: Beasley Forest Products offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, that includes salary, company truck, healthcare insurance, 401K plan with company match, life insurance, paid holidays, and paid time off.
