Job Description:

The Umatilla National Forest in northeast Oregon is seeking US military veteran applicants for several seasonal positions in our silviculture and recreation departments. Please forward the attached flyers to any potential applicants you have. Veterans interested in a job on the OHV or wilderness trails crew should contact Holly Henriksen, Trails Manager, and those interested in a silviculture tech positions should contact me directly.

SPEND THE SUMMER TAKING CARE OF AND EXPLORING SOME OF THE BEST OHV TRAILS IN OREGON! HOUSING IS AVAILABLE.

THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE IS HIRING FOR MEMBERS TO SERVE ON AN OHV TRAIL CREW. POSITION IS INTENDED TO BE AT THE GS-3 OR GS-4. TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED FOR ALL NECESSARY TASKS.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

- USE CHAINSAWS, HAND TOOLS, AND OTHER EQUIPMENT TO MAINTAIN MOTORIZED TRAILS

-PARTICIPATE IN BRIDGE REPAIRS OR CONSTRUCTION

- PATROL MOTORIZED TRAILS ON ATV OR UTVS

- MAINTAIN AND REPAIR EQUIPMENT INCLUDING CHAINSAWS, HAND TOOLS, AND OFF

-HIGHWAY VEHICLES

- PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTING TRAIL MAINTENANCE TASKS
