Thu, 08/10/2017 - 09:10am - Athens, Ga. — Dale Greene, dean of the University of Georgia’s Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, was honored with an international award recently for his years of work in forest operations. Greene received the International Forest Engineering Achievement Award, which recognizes “significant achievements in forest engineering by individuals for outstanding service and sustained contributions to the profession through education, extension, research, development or administration.”

Thu, 07/27/2017 - 02:47pm - Dr. John Maerz has added yet another award to his long list of honors. Maerz was recently honored at the international joint meeting between the Herpetologists' League, Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles, and the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists. Maerz was surprised with the Meritorious Teaching Award in Herpetology in recognition of "exceptional teaching and mentoring." Maerz said he was humbled by the honor, but no one at Warnell is surprised he was chosen for this award.
Mon, 07/17/2017 - 02:54pm - Emily Ayscue, a PhD candidate in integrative conservation, has won a 2017 Innovative and Interdisciplinary Research Grant from the UGA Graduate School. Ayscue was one of a few chosen by the Graduate School for the grant program, and she will receive $2,500 to help fund her research activities at the Warnell School.
