Job Description:

A graduate research assistantship position for Ph.D. is available in the Department of Sustainable Bioproducts at Mississippi State University. Successful candidate will be involved in computer vision applied to lumber manufacturing. For more information contact Dr. Dercilio Lopes (dvl23@msstate.edu)

The target starting date is in the Fall semester 2022. The Department of Sustainable Bioproducts will support funding, which will include graduate student’s stipend, tuition waiver, and health insurance. Review of the applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. A full application to the Graduate School at Mississippi State University will be required for an official offer to be made.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have: 

· Strong motivation and vision in wood and data science research. 

· Skills in Python deep learning libraries. 

· Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in wood science/products, computer science, agricultural/biological engineering, materials science & engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or closely related disciplines 

· TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5 (if international student)
