Job Description:

This is a union-represented, 12-month, 0.80 FTE faculty position with the opportunity to increase to 1.0 FTE through grants and/or teaching. 

UVM Extension is especially interested in candidates who can cultivate a statewide extension program that ensures sustainable forest management while balancing opportunities for economic growth. The successful candidate will advance the development and implementation of educational outreach that enhances recognition and sustainable management of forest ecosystems as critical to wildlife, the economy, societal wellbeing, ecosystem services, biodiversity, carbon sequestration and storage, recreation, and equitable access. For greatest success, this is anticipated to include fostering relationships with academic, federal, state, and local forest practitioners and organizational partners; providing technical assistance to forest landowners; and conducting applied forestry research. 

This position will be housed in one of UVM Extension’s 11 field offices. Evening and weekend work is sometimes required. Frequent travel throughout the state might be expected along with occasional overnight travel for conferences, meetings, etc.
