Job Description:

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) is seeking full-time staff entry-level wetlands/environmental scientist. The position will be mutli-disciplined and will include the following responsibilities:

Wetland/stream assessments and delineations and associated reporting (training to be provided)

Section 401/404 permit applications and associated agency coordination

Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) site visits and report writing

Phase II Environmental Site Assessment site visits and report writing

Protected species surveys, reporting, and agency coordination

Field inspections, primarily of sites under consideration for telecommunications installations, will be commonly required and will often involve overnight trips, air travel, and/or long work days on the road and on-site in physically demanding conditions. Applicant must be detail orientated with strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills, must have a valid driver's license, and must have the flexibility to be able to travel or change travel plans on short notice. The position typically involves approximately 65% field time and 35% office time.

Qualifications:

BS in science related field, with exposure to wetland/stream delineation/assessment being highly preferred.

Miscellaneous:

This position is best suited for individuals that enjoy the challenges of independent thinking and working in high-pressure, deadline-driven situations that require mental toughness and critical thinking. Training is provided, but gained experience (and the mistakes and missteps that come along with that) is ultimately the primary method of learning the skills and techniques for this position, so candidates must be comfortable with the reality of making mistakes, being given feedback and instruction about mistakes, and then ultimately held accountable for learning and adjusting to improve their skills and abilities.

A desire for adventure is required to enjoy this line of work, as fieldwork is often completed alone and in undeveloped and/or isolated areas that often provide uncomfortable conditions (difficult terrain, brush/thickets, heat, rain, etc.). This position is best suited for individuals that enjoy detail-oriented and technical work, but also enjoy the opportunity to get out in the rough.

Salary:
Starting at $45,000

Benefits:

- Health insurance

- Paid time off & Sick leave

- Dental & Vision insurance

- Quarterly Bonus Program

- 401(k)
