Job Description:

The position will begin on or about September 1, 2022. The length of the appointment is four months but could be extended based on performance and project needs. The employee will work closely with the Silviculturist and Research Associate on longleaf pine stand dynamics and soil carbon and nutrient research. The employee will also collect and process herbaceous plant samples on plots associated with the Adaptive Silviculture for Climate Change project. In addition, duties may include cutting saplings to determine tree age and collecting soil cores.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry or a related field is preferred. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.

Miscellaneous:

The successful candidate must have a strong desire to work in both the field and laboratory settings. Experience with data entry, and processing soil and plant samples is preferred. The ability to work and communicate well with others is required. 

 

Salary:
$12.00 per hour with on-site housing provided.
