Job Description:

This position serves as a silviculture forestry technician with primary responsibility for inventory, analysis, and application of silvicultural methods and practices. Other duties include but are not limited to the following: Conduct common stand examinations of timber compartments and stands to determine and evaluate current conditions. recommend basic land management decisions based on these evaluations. assist with silviculture prescriptions and action plans for TSI and reforestation work necessary to attain timber management objectives, plan and implement noxious weed control management, assist in the district hemlock program, perform survey work (hemlock, NNIS, roads, wildlife, etc.), assist timber with sale design, layout, and marking in accordance with approved silvicultural prescription and environmental assessment reports, help conduct annual landline maintenance, administer or supervise the administration of timber stand improvement and planting contracts.

Salary:
GS-04/05 with promotion potential to GS-07, starting salary range $34,584 - $37,696 per year
