Job Title: Wildlife Biologist 2/3 Position#: 00100808 Job Location: Glynn County Job Responsibilities: Under limited supervision, serves as assistant regional supervisor in planning and coordinating development, research, extension, public information through mass media, and nuisance abatement activities region wide. Plans, directs, and conducts research, survey, and management programs throughout the region, and develops comprehensive wildlife management plans for private landowners, hunt clubs, and others. Supervises biologists, technicians, and project laborers as required by the magnitude and scope of ongoing and developed projects and programs, acts as technical advisor to regional supervisor and other biologists, and acts as regional supervisor in the supervisor’s absence. Promotes cooperative relationships between GA DNR, WRD, and other agencies, industries, landowners, and managers to strengthen conservation and enhancement of wildlife habitats and populations, and wildlife associated public recreation opportunities. Obtains public input and recommends hunting and public use regulations based on biological and sociological information available.
Minimum Qualifications: Wildlife Biologist 3: Master’s degree in Wildlife Management, Wildlife Biology, Wildlife Science or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience required at the lower level Wildlife Biologist 2 (NRP061) or position equivalent. Minimum Qualifications: Wildlife Biologist 2: Completion of a Master’s degree in Wildlife Management, Wildlife Biology, Wildlife Science or a related field from an accredited college or university Preferred Qualifications: Preference may be given to applicants with: 1. Experience in game/forest management techniques. 2. Wildlife monitoring and research experience. 3. Wildlife habitat management experience. 4. Computer software and mapping experience (e.g. MSWord, Excel, Access, and ArcGIS). 5. Wildlife technical guidance, public speaking, and nuisance wildlife abatement experience. 6. Preference may be given to current Wildlife Resources Division employees.

Salary: $47,280.21/year plus benefits – Wildlife Biologist 3 Salary: $43,063.23/year plus benefits – Wildlife Biologist 2
