The Upper Oconee Watershed Network (UOWN) is seeking an unpaid intern to assist the organization maintaining its fiscal accounts. UOWN maintains a subscription to Quickbooks Online.
• Weekly update registers to reflect transactions.
• Monthly reconcile registers with banking statements.
• Attend monthly UOWN board of directors meetings.
• Create quarterly and end of year income statements and balance sheets.
The ideal candidate will be a third/fourth year student or graduate student with interest in environmental or public health policy. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills. Familiarity with basic accounting processes and reports required. Familiarity with Quickbooks Online desired. Must have a computer. Intern will report to a member of the UOWN board of directors. This is an unpaid internship position. It is estimated that the internship will require an average of 4-5 hours of activity, including meetings, a month.
The Upper Oconee Watershed Network is a 501(c)3 certified nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting water resources and improving stream health in the Upper Oconee Watershed through community-based advocacy, water quality monitoring, education, and recreation. UOWN maintains the only comprehensive data set regarding water quality in the Upper Oconee Watershed.
