The University of Georgia student chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) is dedicated to establishing beneficial relationships between students and promoting awareness of Georgia's soil and water resources and their conservation. The SWCS mission is to improve the quality of life for people in rural and urban areas through the conservation of soil, water, and related natural resources on working land- the land used to produce food, fiber, and other commodities and goods needed by individuals. As a member of the UGA student chapter, students are exposed to professionals in both public and private sectors of natural resource conservation; from private consultant groups to both state and federal government resource agencies. As the newest student organization at the Warnell school, SWCS is open to all majors and all undergraduates, graduates, and professionals interested in the conservation of our precious natural resources.
