his position works under supervision by both the Fire Management Officer (FMO) and the State Timber Management Officer (TMO). This position conducts and implements multiple forestry programs. The incumbent will also advice State and private cooperators on the best forest practices to meet the land management objectives. This position will assist in implementation of Federal cost share programs with local cooperators. The position will conduct wildfire suppression and timber sale regulation resource protection activities. This will also include monitoring and inspecting Tree farm participation and compliance. This position will provide stewardship program guidance.
Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Range Management, Forest Management, Natural Resources, Wildlife Science, Fire Science or Ecology and one (1) year of experience in Forestry, Range Management, Forest Management, Natural Resources, Wildlife Science, Fire Science and/or Ecology. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
