Performs technical duties related to the care and management of animals. Feeds and waters shelter animals; administers vaccines and medications as directed. Cleans and disinfects kennels; prepares and cleans kennels for occupations. Washes food and water bowls and litter pans. Assists the public with animal adoptions and other matters. Processes animal intakes; examines animals for injury or illness; completes related reports.
Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Must be available Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on holidays. Flexible weekday hours up to 28 hours per week.
