The Stone Mountain Memorial Association (SMMA) is seeking a part-time instructor to assist the educational staff of the Confederate Hall Historical and Environmental Center at Stone Mountain Park. SMMA is the State Authority in charge of overseeing the use of the park land. The Education Department teaches geology and ecology, animal classification, plant-focused, and ecosystem study classes to K-12 visiting students. Outreach programs to schools in Dekalb and Gwinnett counties are also offered for K-5 grades. In addition, various science, social studies, literacy, and gardening science kits are assembled and loaned to schools. A more detailed job description is available.
Status & Pay
Candidate will be hired as a part-time employee for 15-20 hours per week. Professional development opportunities are available, such as relevant conference, certifications, and workshops. Some weekend and evening work required.
