Dr. Richard Cristan, Assistant Research Professor of Forestry in the College of Agriculture, Communities, and the Environment at Kentucky State University (KSU) is seeking a Masters of Science graduate research assistant with a strong interest in forestry, GIS/Technology, and drones. Dr. Cristan’s current research involves the use of drones and drone related technology in forestry, GIS, forest health, invasive species, water quality, habitat restoration (wildlife and pollinator habitat), and forest recreation. This project will involve the use of drones and GIS in relation to forest health and invasive plant species. The student will be required to become certified to fly drones (FAA Remote Pilot Certificate). Dr. Cristan is looking to fill this position as soon as possible with start dates in summer 2019 or fall 2019 semester.
-Successful completion of an undergraduate degree (Bachelors of Science with focus in forestry, natural resources, environmental science, GIS, or a related field)
-GRE Scores (required for admission)
-TOEFL scores (Only required for international students from countries where English is not an official language)
