M. S. Graduate Assistantship in Crayfish Ecology at the Illinois Natural History Survey/University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 

Student will be part of a collaborative team of researchers examining multiple aspects of the distribution and habitat use/requirements of burrowing crayfish species in Missouri. The project will also examine the impacts of land management practices on burrowing crayfish species. The project will involve substantial fieldwork in central and eastern Missouri collecting crayfishes, measuring habitat variables, and testing species distribution models. Laboratory work will involve the construction of species distribution models and analysis of other field collected data. 

Assistantship would include a monthly stipend for 24 months (current rate is $2012 per month) and a tuition waiver at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. 

Selected student will work under the supervision of Christopher A. Taylor at the Illinois Natural History Survey and Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois. Student will also work in collaboration with Missouri Department of Conservation researchers.

Start Date: Graduate Assistantship would begin by 15 August of 2019.


Requirements: BS in Ecology, Zoology, Fisheries, Biology or other related field and competitive GRE scores. Strong analytical skills are preferred.
