Job Description:

To ensure safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of electric service and superior customer satisfaction, this position shall work as a member of the Forestry Services Team to efficiently develop, plan, and implement safe and reliable Integrated Vegetation Management (IVM) programs to support the Company's Transmission system. As an individual contributor, this position is directly responsible for performing Rights-of-Way (ROW) patrols, vegetation and electrical clearance assessments, and communications with customers and land-owners concerning ROW vegetation matters. Maintaining a current knowledge and understanding of all governmental statutory requirements concerning safety clearances between vegetation and electrical conductors, and other local area ordinances is a job requirement.

This position is also accountable for increasing internal and external Customer Satisfaction; fostering a positive trusting relationship with fellow employees, customers, and land-owners; and City, County, State, and Federal organizations.

Qualifications:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry or related field strongly desired

  • Vegetation Management experience is desired

  • Basic knowledge of electric utility operations is a plus

  • Strong personal motivation with the ability to work independently and safely

  • Basic knowledge of herbicides and proper application and use is desired

  • Analytical skills to prepare and examine field notes and constructions plans

  • Basic knowledge of GIS; and proficient knowledge of computer software technologies - Excel, Word, etc.

  • Obtain ISA certification within three years

  • Obtain Herbicide Application license within three years

  • Ability to work in field conditions and perform routine travel across Gulf Power service areas

  • Ability to perform basic emergency call-out response and storm restoration support
