   WE ARE HIRING!!!!! Do you love the outdoors? Do you love teaching? Come be an Environmental Educator here at Fortson 4-H Center this Spring (February-May 2019) This is a seasonal position responsible for delivering environmental education classes for youth grades K-12 at Fortson 4-H Center in Hampton, GA, just south of Atlanta. The primary responsibility is to independently lead classes with a focus on ecology, team building, living history and outdoor skills. Other responsibilities involve animal care, maintenance of facilities and grounds, housekeeping, and other duties as assigned. 
    
   Inspire young people through experiential outdoor learning with the Forton 4-H Center Environmental Education Program! 
    
   Enthusiastic, creative and motivated seasonal environmental education instructors are needed each spring and fall to teach science and outdoor education classes (including pond ecology, herpetology, Native American studies, orienteering, canoeing and challenge course) to PK through 12th graders and assist with animal care, with the potential for high ropes course and other curriculum certifications. 

Qualifications:

   Must be able to work in adverse physical and weather conditions and walk often throughout day to fulfill job responsibilities. Be able to lift approximately 50 pounds. 
    
   Applicants with a bachelor's degree in an outdoor-related field are preferred; excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for teaching children are essential. Positions are available during the spring (February to May) and the fall (August to December); Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work. 

Miscellaneous:

   Hours will vary – Days with frequent night and some weekend work 

Benefits:

   Benefits include a $10/hour wage, extensive training, a limited insurance policy, and access to a variety of recreational activities at the property. Housing with a private room and private bathroom is provided for $20/week. Seasonal staff may also visit and stay overnight for free at the four other Georgia 4-H centers.
