Home means your safe place. Somewhere that is familiar, filled with love and memories. We hope Warnell feels like that home to you. And while this fall doesn't bring the Homecoming Weekend we may have wanted, we're going to make the best of it by inviting you to celebrate with us wherever you are. We had a great time sharing stories, photos, recipes and more with you this past week. Catch up on the celebration below and on Facebook and Instagram.
Congratulations to our Distinguished Alumni winners!

Hungry? We've got you covered
Warnell alumnus Charlie Killmaster (BSFR ’02, MS ’05) is not only state deer biologist with the Wildlife Resources Division - Georgia DNR, but he's also a master in the kitchen. Charlie shared this video for venison reuben (you can also use beaver, goose, or any dark red meat). Maybe it will show up on your table this weekend in time for the UGA-Auburn game?
Or, have a Warnell-inspired dinner
We curated a collection of recipes from across Warnell that will satisfy any kind of appetite. View the recipes on our website and download printable recipe cards!
The past, present and future of Warnell
What do you know about the Peabody bust that's now in Building 2? How about what's been on the menu for past Wildlife Suppers? Here, longtime faculty members Bob Izlar and Karl Miller share some secrets!
What is it like to be a former Warnell student—and then find yourself, years later, on the faculty? Gino D'Angelo received his graduate degrees from Warnell, but then left Athens to work in other parts of the country. When he saw the job opening several years ago, he jumped at the chance to return. Jason Gordon experienced Warnell as an undergraduate, though, and hadn't considered returning as faculty. His experiences took him around the world—literally. Now he's back at Warnell and is ecstatic about where his path led. Hear what they have to say.
When you think of the future of Warnell—and the future of natural resources—what comes to mind? Our students see it as new pandemic-inspired behaviors that help people spend more time outside. They see it as a changing field—one that they are adept at navigating, thanks to their classwork. And they see it as an opportunity to meet new demands for a growing population. Here, several of our student ambassadors share their ideas and goals for their own future.
Reminisce on your time as a student by enjoying some photos from years past!
