The Georgia Department of Natural Resources is seeking college students and others interested in environmental education to fill summer camp counselor positions at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center (CEWC) in Mansfield, Georgia.
Primary responsibilities are to assist with the day and overnight camps offered throughout the summer at CEWC covering a variety of topics including wilderness survival, animal and plant identification, outdoor recreation, and stream ecology. Other opportunities include assisting with animal care, public programs, and professional development as an environmental educator.
Applicants must be self-motivated, interested in working with children, love the outdoors, be conservation minded, and enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with people of all ages. Preference will be given to those candidates who are currently working toward, or have earned a wildlife or education-related degree.
The seasonal naturalist program begins May 20th, and lasts for 10 weeks, ending on July 26th.
