Members of the University of Georgia student chapter of the Southeastern Society of American Foresters attended the SAF National Convention in Orlando, Fla., from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3.

Students wins at American Fisheries Society meeting.

Dr. Michael Conroy attended a EURING analytical meeting and is planning to host the next international meeting in 2013.

Assistant Research Scientist Dehai Zhao, Professor Michael Kane, Professor Bruce Borders and Research Professional Mike Harrison have co-authored an article in Forest Science, and joined John Rheney for a second paper in Annals of Forest Science.

Dr. Michael Conroy retired from the federal government last month after spending 23 years as assistant leader of the Georgia Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. He has accepted a position in Warnell as a senior research scientist.

UGA Soils team placed fifth at regional competition in Tennessee recently.

UGA trounced Tennessee Tech in our Homecoming game on Saturday, and Warnell helped the celebration even before kickoff. Alumni and friends came into Athens for golf, clay shooting and fine dining during Warnell’s annual Homecoming festivities.
