Undergraduate Academic Advising
All students in the Warnell School must be advised on their academic program each semester in order to register for the following semester. Students are advised during fall semester for spring registration and during spring semester for summer and fall registration. Students entering UGA are advised during orientation for their first term of enrollment.
While in the Pre-professional Program, Matt Head (706-542-1133) will be their advisor. Matt's job is to help students to stay on track for entering the Warnell School's Professional Program and for completing all graduation requirements.
Once a student enters the Professional program they are assigned a faculty advisor based on their area of interest. The faculty advisor will help determine a program of study that is tailored to the student’s interests and best suited for future advancement. Once a program of study is developed, the student then takes a signed copy of their program of study to Matt Head, so that he can clear them to register for classes.
The ideal time for advisement in both the Pre-professional and Professional Program is between the third week of the semester and the midpoint.
Matt Head is always available to talk with students regarding registration issues or help with any questions that the student may have. He can be found in room 1-214 or reached at 706-542-1133 between the hours of 8-12pm and 1-5pm, Monday through Friday.
