Professional Program Admission
Admission to the Professional Program is granted by the Faculty of the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources through the Undergraduate Affairs Committee. To be admitted to the Professional Program, a student must be admitted to the University through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and submit a separate Warnell Professional Program application. Students may apply for Fall semester or Spring semester admission. A maximum of 60 students will be admitted each semester.
Fall semester applications are due by March 1.
Spring semester applications are due by October 1.
Note that these deadlines are earlier than the University of Georgia application deadlines

Eligibility for Admission to the Professional Program
At the time of entry to the Professional Program, students must have completed the pre-professional curriculum. Up to 8 hours of electives or SPCM 1100 (Introduction to Public Speaking) may be deferred if an equal number of credit hours have been earned from the following courses:
- FORS 3010-3010L, Dendrology, 3 hours
- FORS 3060-3060L, Soils and Hydrology, 4 hours
- FORS 3300, Introduction to Fish and Wildlife Management, 2 hours
- FORS 3580-3580L, Vertebrate Natural History, 5 hours
A student will not be considered for entry in the Professional Program if they are on dismissal from the University.
