Graduation Checks

The purpose of the Graduation Check is to make sure that a student has fulfilled all of the requirements for graduation and will be enrolling for the correct courses to satisfy all deficiencies in their last term.

Every student graduating from the School of Forest Resources must have a Graduation Check before being eligible to graduate.

Students should make an appointment with the Undergraduate Academic Advisor during the term prior to the term they expect to graduate. Generally, students meet with their faculty advisors before the Graduation Check for advisement. You may not be cleared for advisement if you have not met with your faculty advisor even if you have had a Graduation Check.

Graduation Checks usually take no more than 15 to 30 minutes and can be scheduled with the Undergraduate Academic Advisor in the appropriate term. The Advisor usually has a sign-up sheet outside their door for appointments. Please write "grad check" under your name on the sign-up sheet so that the Advisor can prepare the necessary information before you arrive.

WSFR Graduation Ceremony

The Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources holds a small graduation ceremony for its graduating students in the Spring and Fall. Students who will graduate in the Summer are honored the prior Fall.

Students may attend both the WSFR and UGA ceremony, one or the other, or neither.

The WSFR ceremony is generally held at noon or 30 minutes after the conclusion of UGA's ceremony on the same day.

The WSFR ceremony is held in the Forest Resources Auditorium, Room 2-100. A reception follows in the lobby of building four.

Specific details regarding a ceremony will be sent to graduating students during their expected graduation term.
