The graduate program is administered by the Graduate Coordinator who is appointed by the Dean of the WSFR with the advice and consent of the Dean of the Graduate School. The Graduate Coordinator is the liaison between the WSFR and the Graduate School.
Working with the Graduate Coordinator is the Graduate Degree Program Specialist. This person is responsible for all student records and for all files on graduate program policies and procedures.

Theses and Dissertations
All thesis and dissertations submitted to the Graduate School as a requirement for the student���s respective degree must be submitted in digital format utilizing the Guidelines for Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) Submission. Students should look at the Graduate School's web site and examine all information pertaining to ETDs . The categories of information supplied at this web site include: Frequently Asked Questions; The Graduate School Style Manual; Free Software to create your .pdf document for Electronic Submission; The EDT Help File; How to do your ETD Signature/Approval Page; The Graduate School Format Check Submission Page; The ETD Submission Page; and The ETD Library.
If you desire a paper copy for your own use, Print and Copy Services at the Tate Student Center will print and bind your thesis or dissertation in the traditional black hard cover with gold lettering. Students should not make copies or pay for binding before contacting the Tate Center Print and Copy Services.
Graduation Requirements
The time limits that the graduate program of the WSFR uses for the completion of all graduation requirements are the same as those that are listed in the Graduate School Bulletin. For MS and MFR students, all degree requirements must be completed within six years, beginning with the first registration for graduate courses on the Program of Study. For PhD students, all degree requirements, except for the dissertation and final oral defense, must be completed within a period of six years. A candidate for the PhD degree who fails to complete all degree requirements within five years after passing comprehensive examinations and being admitted to candidacy will be required to take the comprehensive examination again and be readmitted to candidacy.

Student Life
Warnell Graduate Student Association
The Forest Resources Graduate Student Association provides a unified voice for the WSFR graduate students and provides a link between our graduate association and other similar groups on campus. The association is an officially recognized group by the Student Government Association of UGA. Any full-time graduate student of the WSFR is automatically a member of the Forest Resources Graduate Student Association.
Each year the organization sponsors the Graduate Student Symposium, as well as a number of social events.
Forest lands owned and managed by the WSFR
The WSFR owns or manages 26,851 acres of land. This land has been acquired through gifts from individuals or companies desiring to support forest education and research, or from agriculture experiment station land passed to the School for management and conservation. read more
