Tree health care expert Dr. Kim Coder recognized for service contributions

The Georgia Arborist Association (GAA) presented Dr. Kim D. Coder, professor of Community Forestry and tree health care in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, with the first annual award for "Meritorious Contribution and Service in Arboriculture" at the GAA year-end award ceremony on December 15, 2006.

Dr. Coder has served a distinguished professional career as a professor at the University of Georgia for more than 20 years. During this time, Dr. Coder has received numerous state-wide, national, and international awards and recognitions for his service to community forestry, arboriculture and tree health care. Most recently he was awarded a lifetime achievement award by the Georgia Urban Forest Council and an appointment to the world Nominations and Elections Committee for the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).

The Georgia Arborist Association is a professional organization which encourages and motivates arborists to further develop their skills and talents through education and training, and join in the promotion of the industry and professionalism of the tree health care business.
