Warnell School “Adopts” Whitehall Rd.

Document Actions
The Warnell School will hold an “Adopt-a-Highway” clean-up on Saturday, January 20th beginning at 12:00 noon. The Student Ambassadors have chosen “Adopt-a-Highway” as one of their service projects and selected Whitehall Rd. as the Warnell School’s assignment. All members of the Warnell School family (Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends) are encouraged to participate in this project and should plan to meet in the Whitehall Mansion parking lot.

Participant will be divided into two groups, which will each begin working on separate ends of Whitehall Rd and meet in the middle.

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation website, Georgia’s Adopt-A-Highway program enlists citizen volunteer help to remove litter from state roadsides. While saving taxpayer dollars, the program provides recognition for participating companies and organizations, brings the environmental and monetary costs of littering into public awareness, and promotes civic responsibility and pride. The volunteers of the Adopt-A-Highway program serve as visible reminders to the public that we are all stewards of the land.
