UGA’s Graduate School Magazine features Uttiyo Raychaudhuri
- Uttiyo Raychaudhuri, a Ph.D. student in the NRRT program, is featured in the latest edition of UGA’s Graduate School Magazine. Uttiyo played a vital role assisting Drs. Mike Tarrant and Gary Green in establishing the new Natural Resources Recreation & Tourism program at the Warnell School. He has also won numerous awards related to his continued work with UGA’s Graduate School.

- The Warnell School student recruitment team (David Botelho, Emily Saunders and Matt Head) are seeing real success increasing the number of students interested in becoming a professional student in forestry and natural resources.

Warnell graduate students receive bird research grants
- The Georgia Ornithological Society has announced its list of 2006 recipients for the H. Branch Howe, Jr. and the Bill Terrell graduate student grant programs with six University of Georgia graduate students receiving financial research assistance.

Tree health care expert Dr. Kim Coder recognized for service contributions
- The Georgia Arborist Association (GAA) presented Dr. Kim D. Coder, professor of Community Forestry and tree health care in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, with the first annual award for "Meritorious Contribution and Service in Arboriculture" at the GAA year-end award ceremony on December 15, 2006.

Warnell School “Adopts” Whitehall Rd.
- The Warnell School will hold an “Adopt-a-Highway” clean-up on Saturday, January 20th beginning at 12:00 noon. The Student Ambassadors have chosen “Adopt-a-Highway” as one of their service projects and selected Whitehall Rd. as the Warnell School’s assignment. All members of the Warnell School family (Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends) are encouraged to participate in this project and should plan to meet in the Whitehall Mansion parking lot.

Time for Chili-Cook-Off
- The UGA student chapter of The Wildlife Society will be hosting the annual Chili Cook-Off Tuesday, February 20th at 6:00 pm at Flinchum's Phoenix. All members of the Warnell School family are invited to attend and taste some of the finest chili to be found in the Whitehall Forest.
