Ron Hendrick selected to become new Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
Dr. Ron L. Hendrick, Jr., associate professor and Graduate Student Coordinator for the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, has been selected by senior administrators to fill the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs position vacated by Dr. David Newman. Dr. Newman has announced his resignation from the University of Georgia effective June 30, 2007 to accept the Chair position of the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources Management at ESF-SUNY in Syracuse, New York.
Announcing the administration’s decision to faculty, staff and students, Warnell School Interim-Dean Robert Warren said, “Ron has done an excellent job for the Warnell School as Graduate Coordinator and I look forward to working with him on the Leadership Team of the School.”
Hendrick accepted the position by stating, “It has been a privilege to serve the Warnell School in various ways during my thirteen years here, and I am grateful for the opportunity to do so in the role of Associate Dean.”
Dr. Newman announced his decision to accept the job offer as Department Chair at ESF-SUNY late last week. In his announcement he stated, “It is with some sadness that I must confirm the rumors that I will be leaving the Warnell School.”
The faculty, staff and students of the Warnell School wish Dr. David Newman the best of fortune in all the future endeavors he and his family entertain, and convey congratulations to Dr. Ron Hendrick for his appointment to this senior administrative position.
