The Forest Resources Association and the Center for Forest Business co-host forest operations tour
The Forest Resources Association has partnered with the University of Georgia’s Center for Forest Business (Athens, Georgia, USA) to continue the FRA’s successful series of forest operations tours. This year’s co-hosted tour will explore Swedish Forest Biomass Operations and visit the Elmia World Bioenergy 2008 conference and exhibition. We invite you to join us May 25 – 30, 2008 as we explore the latest in bioenergy operations and technologies.

Our Mission
The Center for Forest Business, established in 1997, exists to provide national leadership in education, research, and service to forest industry, private landowners, and Georgia in:
- The integration of sound forest business principles and practices with contemporary biological and quantitative methods to achieve sustainable forest production
- The investigation of forest resources and forest industry alternatives that are economically competitive in then global marketplace
- The proposal of market-based solutions to forest resource problems and opportunities
Our Guiding Principles
1. CFB provides an outstanding forest business educational program focusing on the economic and financial aspects of the resources, markets, businesses, and policies associated with managed forests.
2. CFB serves all those who own, manage, serve, or use resources from managed forests.
3. CFB anticipates challenges and formulates options to keep the forest business sector competitive.
4. CFB communicates its work to its clients keeping them informed about its accomplishments.
5. CFB seeks to enhance the economic performance and environmental sustainability of resources associated with managed forests.
6. CFB focuses its work on the southern US in the context of the national and global economy.
7. CFB bases its research on the best available data.
8. CFB relies on synergistic collaboration with all academic programs in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources and with selected other programs in the university.
