Accreditation

The Forestry major curriculum in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources is fully accredited by the Society of American Foresters (http://www.safnet.org/). It was first accredited in 1938, making it one of the first accredited forestry programs in the country. Accreditation has been renewed roughly every ten years since.

The organizations that represent the fisheries, wildlife, and water and soil resource professions do not accredit undergraduate programs. However, they certify individuals who meet professional standards. Certification requirements include educational and experiential components. The School’s Fisheries, Wildlife, and Water and Soil Resources majors meet the educational requirements for certification offered by the following professional organizations:
