Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources Graduate Program. Below we have listed the steps necessary in the application process, however, one of the most important steps in applying to our graduate program is finding the appropriate major professor to direct your work here at Warnell. If you have not yet identified a faculty member with whom to work, you should check the Area of Specialty page for detailed information on faculty working in your area of interest. Information on each faculty member's web page can help you match your interests with those of a potential major professor, with whom you can discuss any necessary prerequisites.

The Graduate School’s Application for Admission form is completed and submitted electronically through the Office of Graduate Admissions. If you have any questions, it is more expeditious to contact that office by e-mail.

  1. Graduate Study Objectives form
  2. Written summary of career goals: This summary, or personal statement, should express your reasons for seeking the degree, your interest in the field, and your expectations for the future.  The length is up to you, but you should detail your goals without simplifying them.  Since this statement is one of the first contacts a potential major professor has with you, I suggest you make it a neat, typed copy.  An essay format, with a simple title such as "Career Goals," works best.
  3. Current resume

Deadlines for submission apply to the Application Form and all supporting materials.
