Job Description:

Under general supervision, manages wild trout fishery resources by conducting research and survey projects and public waters management activities that are designed to protect, evaluate, and/or benefit trout resources. Collects and analyzes data, drafts written reports, and makes presentations to interested groups. Provides technical assistance to the public and other natural resource agencies on a variety of fisheries issues, provides emergency response for fish kills and natural disasters, and critically reviews and drafts comments on projects with potential impacts to trout resources. Provides outreach services to resource users and educators.

 

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in biology or a related field from an accredited college or university.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field from an accredited college or university AND one year of related experience

OR

One year of experience required at the lower-level Fisheries Biologist 1 (NRP070) or position equivalent.

 

 

Miscellaneous:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

1.) Master’s Degree in fisheries management or closely related field

2.) Experience with fisheries sampling techniques in streams and rivers

3.) Skills and experience relevant to data analysis, report writing, and public presentations

4.) DNR/WRD employment experience

Salary:
$50,063.23 per year
