Pete Phillips Laboratory for Nutrient Cycling Science

Drs. Larry Morris and Daniel Markewitz

The Nutrient Cycling Science Laboratory provides analytical capabilities for macro (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, etc) and micro (Mn, Cu, Fe, Co, etc) nutrients as well as other components (e.g., dissolved and total organic carbon) in plants, soils, and waters. Analysis of other substrates (i.e., fish tissues) is possible as is analysis of liquids, solids, and gases. Primary equipment includes ion chromotagraphy, atomic adsorption spectrophotometry, flow analysis, auto-titrator, Dumas combustion for C and N is liquids and solids, manual spectrohotometry, gas chromotography.
