Certifications
The Forestry major meets the educational requirements to qualify to take
the examination to become a Registered Forester in Georgia or other southern
states.
The Forestry major meets the educational requirements for Certified Forester,
as stipulated by the Society of American Foresters.
The Wildlife major meets the educational requirements for Certified Wildlife
Biologists, as stipulated by the Wildlife Society.
The Fisheries & Aquaculture major provides an education that meets
the Professional Certification requirements recommended by the American
Fisheries Society.
The Water and Soil Resources major, with a Soil Management area of emphasis,
fulfills the educational requirements for Certified Soil Scientist by
the Soil Science Society of America.
The Water and Soil Resources major, with a Water Resources area of emphasis,
provides course work required for certification by the American Institute
of Hydrology in general hydrology, ground water hydrology, or water quality.
The Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources is accredited by
the Society of American Foresters, guaranteeing that it meets certain
standards for objectives, curriculum, faculty, students, administration,
parent institution support, and physical resources and facilities.
