"Homecoming

The faculty, staff and alumni of the Warnell School would like to thank all of our family and friends who joined us this past weekend for the annual Homecoming celebration. This year’s events included:

Golf.jpg

A record turnout at the Alumni Golf Tournament (92 players) on the newly redesigned UGA course. The School’s Young Alumni Committee took the reins to run this year’s tournament and successfully raised more than $10,000 for their Young Alumni Leadership Endowment. Congratulations to this group of young professional for a successful first year and for an outstanding golf tournament. (Photo courtesy of Daniel van Dyke)

ClayShoot.jpg

The first annual Skeet/Clay tournament was held at Brush Pines in Madison County and received rave reviews from all who participated. If you are not a golfer, look for this event again next year. Special thanks to Tom Harris for organizing this inaugural event.

Alumni dinner – Once again dozens of alumni and their families joined us for the traditional Friday evening dinner and all appeared to have a wonderful time. The UGA Dance Dawgs made an appearance again this year to help celebrate Bulldawg Pride. (Photo courtesy of Jason Kinsey)

Tailgate.jpg

Pre-Game Tailgate - Flinchum's was overflowing with red & black at this year's homecoming tailgate.

Dedication of "Archie's Chapel" - This year faculty and alumni took time out to recognize beloved former faculty member Archie Patterson by dedicating his former classroom (1-307) in the Classic Building. The room will now always be know as "Archie's Chapel" with a plaque on the wall recognizing his many contributions to the Warnell School. Those who attended the dedication were welcomed by Dean Clutter and Provost Mace, who both delivered many fond memories to Archie's two grown children, who were also in attendance.

The Archie Patterson Tribute video that was  shown at the dedication ceremony of Archie’s Chapel on Friday, Nov. 2, can be viewed on the Warnell School website. (Special thaks to Morgan Nolan for producing this memorable video)

If you have trouble viewing the video, be sure you have the most  recent version of quicktime (7.2).

Special thanks to Dean Clutter, and the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs, for coordinating a superb Homecoming weekend.
