Document Actions
Professor of Forestry Dale Greene and graduate students Amanda Hamsley and Michael Westbrook were awarded top honors for technical writing by the Forest Resources Association, Inc.

Hamsley and Greene co-authored a technical release titled Improving Timber Trucking Performance by Reducing Variability of Log Truck Weights. The Wood Supply Research Institute funded this study, which investigated improved efficiency and payload gains for loggers who implemented methods to consistently load log trucks close to their optimal weight. Hamsley and Greene were awarded the First Place Technical Writing Award for 2008.

Westbrook and Greene co-authored a technical release titled Adding a Chipper to a Treelength System for Biomass Conversion. This second-place winner summarizes results from a UGA study discussing the economic viability of integrating biomass collection and chipping equipment into a southern logging operation.
