Professor Coder Receives World Author’s Award
Dr. Coder has published prolifically in the areas of tree biology, forest ecology and community forest management for more than 20 years, building an international reputation.
The ISA announced the award on July 29 at the opening ceremony of the ISA’s annual international conference which was held in Honolulu, HI, USA. The ISA is the largest professional association of urban and community foresters and arborists in North America and around the world, with more than 20,000 members. The ISA also offers the only internationally recognized professional certification program in the tree health industry. The R.W. Harris Author’s Citation Award is granted to authors from around the world for their excellent scientific writing skills published over many years.
Dr. Coder’s publications are targeted at helping educate arborists and community foresters in what is needed for proper long-term tree health care. He has generated more than 140 technical outreach publications on trees and community forests in just the last six years. The 20 refereed professional journal articles he has published continue to provide a timely and strong voice for helping professionals understand how trees work. ISA is proud to recognize the continuing dedication of Dr. Coder to the world’s trees and their professional care providers.
